NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Four different players scored and junior Claire Hurley had two assists to set the single-season assists record with nine as Coast Guard tied the single-season school record with its ninth win of the season beating Albertus Magnus 4-0 in a non-conference game.
The Bears, who also won nine games last season, improve to 9-6-1 overall while the Falcons drop to 4-12 on the season.
Coast Guard dominated the play all night as the Bears outshot the Falcons 28-0.
Freshman Emily Rivera (1-0) earned her first collegiate win in goal for the Bears as her and sophomore senior Anna Niedermeyer combined on the shutout.
Sophomore Felicia Lombardi would get the Bears on the board just 6:11 into the match and just over four minutes later sophomore Sabrina Robertson scored her first goal of the season for Coast Guard with Hurley notching her single-season school record eighth assist and the Bears led 2-0 at halftime.
Freshman Brielle Pearce would score in the 77th minute before sophomore Kylee Ballard added the final goal with just eight seconds left with Hurley assisting to close the scoring.
The Bears close out the regular season on Saturday at Wheaton in a NEWMAC game at 1:00.
