NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Juniors Claire Hurley and Lizzie Miller continue to collect postseason honors after the record breaking season as both were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-New England second team.
The junior duo were also named to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer All-Conference teams for the first time in their careers this season.
Hurley, a first team All-NEWMAC selection led the team in goals with 11, the junior forward broke the school record for points in a season during a historic NEWMAC quarterfinal when she scored the game-winner in the 1-0 victory over WPI to set the new record of 31 points in a single season.
Hurley was tied for second in the NEWMAC with her school record nine assists and 31 points.
Miller, a defender, earned a spot on the NEWMAC second team. She played a vital part in the team's success during their historic season. Miller had three points on the year, with a goal and an assist. Miller and the rest of the Bears defense, shut down opponents to hold a 1.37 goals against average with seven shutouts on the season.
The Bears won a school record 11 games as the team finished 11-7-1 and earned the first ever NEWMAC tournament win this season with a 1-0 win over WPI.
