As we approach the holiday season and the New Year, we will take a look back at the Top Ten moments in Coast Guard Academy intercollegiate Athletics during the 2018 year.
We have compiled a list and will unveil one every other day, culminating with the announcement of the top moment on New Year's Eve.

TOP MOMENT #9 – WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM HAS RECORD BREAKING SEASON
Coast Guard finished their record-breaking season at 11-7-1. The 11 wins were the most wins in a season and the team won its first ever NEWMAC tournament game a 1-0 win at home over WPI.
The senior class, Kali Borden, Riley Cassidy, and Anna Niedermeyer leave their final season with the most wins in program history, with 33.
Juniors Claire Hurley and Lizzie Miller were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-New England second team.
The junior duo were also named to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's soccer All-Conference teams for the first time in their careers this season.
Hurley, a first team All-NEWMAC selection led the team in goals with 11, the junior forward broke the school record for points in a season during a historic NEWMAC quarterfinal when she scored the game-winner in the 1-0 victory over WPI to set the new record of 31 points in a single season.
Hurley was tied for second in the NEWMAC with her school record nine assists and 31 points.
Miller, a defender, earned a spot on the NEWMAC second team. She played a vital part in the team's success during their historic season. Miller had three points on the year, with a goal and an assist. Miller and the rest of the Bears defense, shut down opponents to hold a 1.37 goals against average with seven shutouts on the season.
