New London, Conn. – Connecticut College improves to 3-0 on the season with a win over Coast Guard this afternoon, 170-86. With the loss, the Bears fall to 2-4.
Junior Chantel Ferguson picked up a pair of first place finishes for the Bears, finishing first in the 100 meter butterfly and 200 yard individual medley. Ferguson finished the 100 butterfly in 1:01.43 and came in at 2:18.26 in the 200 IM.
Sophomore Darlene Sao had a pair of second place finishes in the 100 yard and 200 yard freestyle events. Sao completed the 100 free in 55.85 and finished the 200 free in 2:00.39.
Sao teamed up with freshmen Patti Eidenhire, Ashley Ezell, and Carly Campbell and took first place in the 200 yard freestyle relay, finishing with a combined time of 1:43.97. The Bears swept the event as a team of Caitlyn Gever, Kelsey Gray, Erin Talbot, and Danielle McMeekin finished second with a time of 1:48.60. Freshman Haley McWilliams, Megan Toomey, Abby Isaacs, and sophomore Elizabeth Furman teamed up for a third place finish, coming in at 1:55.68.
This was the last meet of the semester for the Bears and will return after the break for a dual meet with Babson College and Wellesley College on January 9th at 4:00p at Wellesley.
