Women’s Swimming and Diving Fifth After Day One

WORCESTER, Mass.-Coast Guard earned 48 points in  the 800 freestyle relay at Day One of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Bears' relay team of junior Darlene Sao, senior Chantel Ferguson, and sophomores Megan Toomey and Carly Campbell finished in 8:08.86 to gain 34 points and a seventh place finish. The other team of freshmen Kaitlyn Toth and Miranda Fay and sophomores Danielle McMeekin and Haley McWilliams crossed the finish line in 8:25.74 to get the Bears an additional 14 points.

Coast Guard's 48 points currently has them in fifth place (of 10 competing teams) through the completion of one event.

Action resumes tomorrow with Day Two activities, hosted by WPI.
