Women's team honored by CSCAA for 2nd Straight Semester

NEW LONDON, Conn. –The Coast Guard Academy women's swimming and diving team has been honored by The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as the Bears were named one of the 2014 Spring CSCAA Scholar-All-America teams.

The women's  team had a GPA of 3.21during the spring semester to earn the honor for the second straight semester after also being honored during the Fall semester.

"It's once again great for our cadet-athletes to get recognized for the hard work that they put in not only in the pool, but also in the classroom again during the spring semester," said head coach John Westkott. "To have a team GPA of over 3.0 at such an outstanding academic institution as the Coast Guard Academy is an outstanding achievement."

The Spring Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the semester/quarter coinciding with the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA/CCCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
