New London, Conn.-- Coast Guard women's swimming and diving dropped a 155-88 dual meet with MIT on Saturday afternoon at Roland Pool.
The Bears had five, first place finishes on the day. The 400 Free Relay team of Sophia Furigay, Josie McGuire, Sarah Passilla, and Kristen Durham-Young set a pool record in the event with their time of 3:37.64.
Emily Benson topped the 1000 Free with a time of 10:52.64. Passilla grabbed a first place finish in the 200 IM at 2:14.76. Druham-Young finished first in the 100 Free with a 54.46 time. McGuire finished the 500 Free in 5:13.22 to take first place in the event.
Coast Guard had three, second place finishes in the meet. The 200 Medley team of Furigay, Passilla, Celia Marzinsky, and Durham-Young finished in second with a time of 4:08.35. McGuire finished the 200 Free at 1:57.49 for her second place finish. Benson had a 5:20.06 time for a second place finish in the 500 Free.
The Bears return to the pool next Saturday, January 19 when they host rival, Merchant Marine in Roland Pool at 12:00 PM.
