NEW YORK, N.Y.--Junior Abby Bishop earned All-ECAC honors finishing fifth in a field of 12 competitors scoring a new school record of 2,995 points in the pentathlon during the first day of the ECAC Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at the New York Armory.
Bishop surpassed her previous record of 2983 points set last year. Within the pentathlon, Bishop's marks were 9.85 in the 60 meter hurdles, 28 feet, 4.5 inch throw in the shot put, 15 feet, 7 inch leap in the long jump, a season best time in the 800 meters of 2:28.47, and a personal record of 4 feet, 10.5 inches in the high jump.
Also breaking a school record, the Distance Medley Relay team of junior Kristin Euchler, freshman Madison Ahlers, freshman Rachel Hill, and junior Beth Gollin posted a time of 12:29.01. The previous record of 12:31.76 was set by the same four runners two weeks ago at the Division III New England Championships. Their performance earned All-ECAC honors by finishing 4th overall.
