MEDFORD, Mass. – Abby Bishop set a new school record in the pentathlon and placed third leading Coast Guard to a fifth place finish at the Tufts Invitational.
Bishop finished the pentathlon with 2,998 points as she ran 9.53 in the 60 meter hurdles, cleared 4'7.75"in the high jump, threw 31'1" in shot put, jumped 15'11.75" in the long jump, and ran the 800 meters in 2:34.08.
Beth Gollin took 3rd place in the 3,000 meters running a career best 10:25.83 as she qualified for nearly all post season competition.
Carrie Smith was Coast Guard's top finisher in the 5,000 meter run crossing the finish in 18:50.58 and teammate Kendall Auth was seventh finishing in 19:15.18.
Madison Ahlers was sixth in the 400 meters with her fastest time of the season running 1:03.40.
Gretchen Krause ran her first collegiate race where she finished fifth in the 600 meter run crossing the line in 1:44.05 and qualifying for post season competition.
Kristin Euchler was sixth overall in the 1,000 meters crossing the line in 3:10.30 and qualifying for the Division III New England Championships.
In the field events, Hannah Seeland placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 47'.75" while teammate Kyle Sutschek had a personal record of 43'2.25" feet taking eighth place. Katie Nielsen was the runner up in the shot put throwing 38'6.75" feet while teammates Seeland and Emily Trudeau placed fourth and sixth respectively.
Also for the Bears, Monet Masters cleared ten feet in the pole vault to take sixth place.
