BOSTON, Mass.-Junior Beth Gollin broke the Coast Guard school record for the 3000 meter run as the Bears' women's track and field team completed a successful day at the Dave Hemery Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
Gollin finished the 3000 with a time of 10:21.67. In addition to her record-setting run, Gollin complete the mile run in a time of 5:11.67.
Sophomore Madison Ahlers ran in both the 200 and 400 meter events, posting season-best times in each, crossing the finish line in 27.51 and 1:01.30, respectively. Classmate Monet Masters placed fifteen in the pole vault, maxing out at a height of 10 feet, 6 inches.
Senior Kristin Euchler was the Bears' top finisher in the 800 meter with a time of 2:22.76, coming in just under four seconds ahead of freshman Gretchen Krause who ran a 2:26.52. Rounding out the top finishes for Coast Guard, freshman Bonny Turnage ran a personal-best of 3:08.92 in the 1000 meter run.
Coast Guard returns to action on Saturday, February 8th when they take part in the MIT Invitational.
