Gollin Earns Spot in Steeplechase Final at NCAA Championships

DELAWARE, Ohio – Junior Beth Gollin placed fifth in her heat in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to earn a spot in the finals at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan.

Gollin ran a 10:51.17 to earn one of the ten spots in the finals on Saturday afternoon. She was seeded 14th entering the championship.

Senior Abby Bishop, making her first appearance at the NCAA championships, was also in action during the first day of the heptathlon and she is 18th with 2,662 points heading into day two. She set a school record in the 200 meters with a time of 25.98, ran a 15.82 in the hurdles, had a toss of 33 feet, 10.75 inches in the shot put and had a high jump of four feet, 9.5 inches.
