SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Hollis Roush set a personal record in the pentathlon on day one of the Division III New England Championship hosted by Springfield College.
Roush scored 2756 points for 11th place in the opening event of the weekend. Sophomore Summer Solstice Thomas of Williams won the event with 3509.
In the opening event, the 60 meter hurdles, Roush set a PR of 10.38. She then cleared 4-10.25 in the high jump, threw 29-00 in the shot put, leapt 15-5.5 in the long jump and finished the running 2:39.52 in the 800.
The women are back in action tomorrow at day two of the Division III New England Championship looking for their first top-10 finish since 1998.
