Bears Finish in Fifth at Day One of Division III New England Championships

BRUNSWICK, Maine-- Coast Guard women's track and field finished the first day of the New England Division III Championships in fifth place overall at Bowdoin on Friday night. Williams leads with 48 points, MIT is second with 36.50, WPI is third with 17.50, Bowdoin is fourth with 17, and the Bears have 12 points.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Mooney broke a Farley Field House record with her first place finish at 16:36.89 in the 5K. Junior Olivia Suski also ran the 5K and finished with a time of 18:21.46.

The 4x200 relay team of Caroline Jenkins, Anna Beck, Kristina Bynum,and Adora Lawrence finished seventh overall with a time of 1:47.75.

The DMR team of Mia Huncharek, Alexys Percival, Maeve Roach, and  Anita Green crossed the line at 12:53.35.

The Bears will continue with day two of the New England Division III Championships at Bowdoin, tomorrow.
