Bears Earn Spot in NCAA Regional Rankings

NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Coast Guard Academy women's volleyball cracked the NCAA Division III New England Regional rankings as the Bears checked in at No. 12.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) had six teams in the rankings MIT (#2), Babson (#4), Wellesley (#5), Springfield (#8) and Clark at #10.

Coast Guard is 15-9 overall and 5-4 in NEWMAC play. The Bears have five regular season games left before they will compete in the NEWMAC tournament beginning on Oct. 31st.

Freshman Bridget Boyle leads the Bears with 261 kills and is third with 203 digs while sophomore Angelou Dunton is second on the team with 234 kills and 236 digs.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday night in a non-conference match at Conn. College at 7:00.
