Bears Fall in Regular Season Finale

NORTON, Mass. – Coast Guard would win the opening set but lost to host Wheaton 3-1 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match to close out the regular season.

The Bears finish the regular season 16-13 overall and 5-5 in the conference while Wheaton is 23-8 overall and 7-3 in the NEWMAC.

Coast Guard will be the sixth seed in the conference tournament and play at #3 Wellesley on Tuesday night in the quarterfinals.

The Bears won the opening set 25-15 before the Lyons won 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 for the win.

Sophomore Alexi Deane led the Bears with ten kills, freshman Bridget Boyle added eight and sophomore Angelou Dunton finished with seven kills to go with 10 digs. Senior Michelle McGill led Coast Guard with 13 digs while freshman Veronica Hine had a team-high 14 assists.
