Aaron Parker graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2005 with a Marine and Environmental Sciences degree. After graduating, Mr. Parker worked in Sector Boston, Massachusetts, contributing to a wide range of Coast Guard missions; conducting search and rescue, security boardings, homeland security patrols, security escorts, and pollution response. He reported to the Coast Guard Academy Admissions office in 2008. As an Admissions Officer, he was responsible for outreach, education, recruiting, and counseling.
He currently works in the office of Inclusion and Diversity at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Programs include recruiting, outreach, and student retention. Recruiting efforts consist of outreach programs and strategic partnerships in diverse communities. Retention projects involve student development, student training, faculty training, developing campus wide cultural competency, and culture of inclusion.
Aaron has played competitive volleyball since 1997, competing in high school, college, and USAV adult levels. He has earned medals and recognition in many events, and has most recently earned a Gold medal at the 2012 USAV Adult National Open tournament Coed Regular BB/B division and was named to the all tournament team.
