Women's XC Finishes 4th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

The women's cross country team posted a fourth place finish out of 38 scoring teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational 5K this afternoon.

Sophomore Beth Gollin took the first spot for the Bears placing 16th in a field of 293 competitors. Gollin covered the 5k course in 18:58. Following in 37th place was senior co-captain Sarah Blatt, who finished with a time of 19:23. Close behind Blatt at 19:33 was junior Meghan Kalinowski, who finished 45th overall.

Freshman Melissa Keeley finished 68th and finished the race in 20:00 while junior Rebecca Fox finished with a time of 20:03.

Also posting great marks on the 5k course were junior Moira McNeil (20:10), sophomores Kendall Auth 20:11 and Ellie Wu 20:23, and freshman Jessica Mulroy (20:27).

"Our ladies really stepped it up today," said head coach Ethan Brown. "We had several personal records and established some great marks - something we want to build on this season."

Next weekend the Bears will travel to Middletown CT for a tri-meet at Wesleyan University.
