BETHLEHEM, Pa.-Junior Beth Gollin was the top finisher for the Coast Guard women's cross country team helping to lead the way to a 26th place team finish among 45 Division I, II, and III competition at the 2013 Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University.
Gollin ran a time of 23:24 over the 6K course on a hot and humid day to place 106th. Next to cross the finish line in scoring position for Coast Guard was freshman Gretchen Krause running a time of 24:01.
Senior Meghan Kalinowski and sophomore Carrie Smith were the third and fourth finishers, respectively, for the Bears, running times of 24:08 and 24:10. The final runner in scoring position was junior Kendall Auth, traversing Lehigh's 6K course in 24:30.
Holy Cross won the women's Brown Division with 176 points with Shippensburg coming in second with 184.
Coast Guard returns to action on Saturday, October 12th when they travel to Westfield State for the James Earley Invitational.
