Mooney Named NEWMAC Cross Country Runner of the Week for the Fourth Time this Year

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman Kaitlyn Mooney was named NEWMAC Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season as she once again broke her 6K school record on her way to winning the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational Saturday morning.

Mooney ran 21:35.8 for first place topping her previous school record of 22:02.00. She bested a field featuring Brittany Bowman of Tufts (2015 All-American), Abigail Nadler of Middlebury (2016 All-American) and Emily Bryson of Brandeis (2015-16 All-American) by 20 seconds. Mooney has run in four races this season winning three of them and coming in second in the other to National Champion favorite Taryn Cordani of Ithaca.

Coast Guard is back in action on October 29th, when they travel to Boston, Massachusetts for the NEWMAC Championship.
