HARTFORD, Conn. – Laurel Felt won the season opening Trinity Invitational with a time of 18:58.8 leading the Bears to the championship.
All-American Kaitlyn Mooney was just behind Felt at 18:58.9 as the Coast Guard duo was 57 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
Kirsten Carson was eighth in 20:44.5, Mia Huncharek was 10th (20:47.9), Emma Sims finished 11th in 20:52.6, Olivia Suski placed 12th in 20:55.4 and Savannah Olyniec was 15th in 21:03.2 to round out the Bears top seven finishers.
"This is a solid day for the women's team. The conditions were great for our first meet out and they really executed their race plans well. Definitely a challenging course, but they looked good. We're looking forward to keeping this rhythm going," said head coach Ethan Brown.
The Bears are back in action on September 21st at the Bowdoin Invitational.
