FORT MYERS, Fla. –  Lasell scored seven runs in the eighth to come-from-behind to beat Coast Guard 11-8 at the Gene Cusic Classic.

Jeremy Lhotka, who was 10 for his last 10, hammered the first pitch the saw for a towering grand slam to left field in the bottom of the first to give Coast Guard a 4-1 lead.

The Lasers scored single runs in each of the first four innings and the Bears would add a run in the third on a sacrifice fly by Dylan Roberts and led 5-4 after four innings.

The Bears maintained that 5-4 lead into the eighth before Lasell sent 12 men to the plate facing four different Coast Guard pitchers to hang seven unearned runs in the frame for an 11-5 lead.

Jon Pressley had a two-run single in the eighth and Luke Thompson delivered a sacrifice fly for Coast Guard in the ninth, but the Bears saw their four-game win streak snapped.

Lhotka had two hits for his fourth multi-hit game of the season, in five games, while Tom Ankers, Dylan Roberts and Will Stephens both also added pair of hits for Coast Guard.

Ben Webster (0-1) was the tough luck loser for the Bears as he allowed three unearned runs in 1 2/3 innings. Nine of Lasell's 11 runs were unearned in the loss including all seven in the eighth.

PJ Gravalec pitched the first six innings for the Bears allowing just four hits and a pair of earned runs while walking four and fanning five.

Coast Guard plays its final game at the Gene Cusic Classic on Thursday at 9:00 against Alfred State.
