WORCESTER, Mass.-- Clark scored two goals in the second half to take down Coast Guard men's soccer 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action. The Bears fall to 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the NEWMAC, while Clark improves to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Mike Daunt put the Bears on the board first in the 30th minute as he put away his sixth goal of the season.
Clark tied it in the 41st minute as senior Gregory Amador put away his first goal of the season.
Senior Evan Jurkowski gave Clark a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute with help from Charlie Lane. Freshman Noah Gregerman extended the lead for Clark in the 90th minute for the 3-1 final.
Both teams had 18 shots in the game and Clark had a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper Dakota Harich made seven saves for the Bears and dropped to 4-4 on the season. Junior goalkeeper Melvin Vincent had 10 saves for the Cougars and improves to 7-3 on his season.
The Bears are back in action on the road next Saturday, October 19 at WPI with a 12:00 PM kickoff.
