New London, Conn.-- Coast Guard men's swimming and diving set four new pool records on Saturday afternoon as the #16 Bears defeated Merchant Marine Academy, 183-117 in Roland Pool.
The 200 Medley team of Patrick Jackson, Chasse Sodemann, Tyler Dominick, and Joe Rodriguez set a new record with their top time of 1:33.73. Eric Fuhs finished the 100 Breast in 57.55 to take a first place finish and set a Roland Pool record. Rodriguez set another pool record with his top finish in the 50 Free at 20.56. The final Roland Pool record set for men was the 200 Free Relay team of Daniel Jenkins, Jack Stone, Tyler Dominick, and Rodriguez with a first place finish at 1:24.78.
The Bears continued their first place finishes. Taylor Rowe finished the 1000 Free at 9:51.55 and completed the 500 Free in 4:46.18. Devin McClure touched the wall at 1:43.55 in the 200 Free and had a time of 1:54.00 in the 200 Back. Christian Lower finished the 200 Fly with a time of 1:56.78. Patrick Jackson had a 52.21 time in the 100 Fly.
In diving, Marshall Seguin had a third place finish in the 1M with a score of 238.27 and a second place finish in the 3M with a score of 2:45.92.
Coast Guard returns to the pool on Saturday, January 26 at 1:00 PM when they travel to Clark University.
