BRUNSWICK, Maine-- Coast Guard men's cross country finished third overall in the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Colby College won the Invitational, and Bowdoin finished second, just five points ahead of  the Bears.

Senior Jacob McGlumphy was the top finisher for the Bears as he placed sixth overall with a time of 26:52.

Junior Matt Doyle finished 10th overall at 27:27 and sophomore Greg Costello followed at 27:38.

Junior Joseph Roth finished at 27:47, senior Thomas Jordon finished at 28:10, sophomore Ryan Von Brock clocked a time of 28:14, and junior Logan Bonner ran in 28:16.

"We were a little more aggressive from the gun, but after the first mile they settled in and ran a strong race from there. There were some solid performances on the course, especially for our first 8k of the season. This shows some good signs of where we are at and I'm looking forward to next week as we really focus on a good week of training," said head coach Ethan Brown.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday, October 5 at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh.
