Pistol team loses to Navy and USMMA in a three-way contest

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Bears lost a tough competition against U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a shoulder-to-shoulder competition at Annapolis, MD, 17-18 January 2015. The Bears lost to Navy but defeated USMMA in Air (2108 to 2217 and 2058, respectively). They lost to Navy and USMMA in Standard Pistol (1708 to 2113 and 1927 respectively).

Senior Co-Captain Hannah Cronin led the Bears in Standard Pistol with a score of 496, while Sophomore Emily Burlison led the Bears in Air Pistol with a 535. In Individual competition, Burlison fired an excellent 487 in Free Pistol.   

In Women's competition, the Bears defeated Navy 2614 to 2601. In Air Pistol, the Bears fired a 1041 to Navy's 1056 and in Sport Pistol fired a 1573 to Navy's 1545. Burlison led the Bears in the Women's Aggregate, firing an 876.  

For the next competition, the Bear's Pistol Team will compete at home against Army on 31 Jan – 1 February 2015.
