McGuire Leads Bears Past Brandeis

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Josie McGuire won the 200 freestyle (1:59.84) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.89) leading Coast Guard to a 171-114 win over Brandeis.

The Bears even their record at 3-3 on the season while the Judges drop to 2-7.

Coast Guard also swept the diving event as Taylor Young won the 1-meter with a score of 214.57 while Natalie Yurgil won the 3-meter diving with a score of 191.17.

Also for the Bears, Lindsey Blake won the 1,000 freestyle (10:55.63), Katie Dennin won the 100 backstroke (1:01.11), Meghan Bolin won the 200 butterfly (2:16.95), Melody Pompay won the 50 freestyle (25.70) and Emily Benson won the 100 freestyle (55.40).

Coast Guard's 200 medley relay team of  Dennin, Sarah Passilla, Benson and Pompay won with a time of 1:54.11

The Bears are back in action on Dec. 7th in the Connecticut Cup at Wesleyan.
