Bears Place 3rd at NEWMAC Women's Track and Field Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --  A trio of Bears took home New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships as the Bears placed 3rd at NEWMAC Track and Field Championship.

Leilani Salang won both the hammer (159-04) and the discus (139 feet), Adora Lawrence won the 400 meters (57.80), while Kaitlyn Mooney won the 5,000 meters (17:26.64) to lead the Bears.

MIT won with 182.5 points, Springfield was second (152.16) and the Bears were third with 114 points.

Anita Green earned All-conference honors with a second place finish in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:54.17. Also earning All-NEWMAC honors with second place finishes for the Bears were Anna Beck in the 400 meters (58.94), Ariyanna Jurkowski in the discus (120 feet) and the 4x400 relay of Maeve Roach, Lawrence, Anna Beck and Alexys Percival (4:02.91).
